Celebrating God’s Faithfulness in 2024: A Year of Impact and Growth at Tuscarora

Dear Friend,

As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on a year of blessings and growth at Tuscarora. Through God’s faithfulness and your generosity, our ministry continues to thrive as a place where faith is nurtured, lives are transformed, and relationships are strengthened. Paul’s words in Ephesians 1:16 come to mind: “I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” We are profoundly grateful for you, our donors and supporters, who enable Tuscarora not only to operate but to dream and grow.

This year, we saw incredible milestones. Over 522 campers attended Junior Week and Teen Week, where faith was renewed and lives were changed. At Leisure Week in July, one guest shared:

“Being at Tuscarora gives me the opportunity to step away from the stressors of my everyday life. This allowed my family to come away with a renewed joy in our faith and gratefulness for all that God provides in our daily lives.”

We also celebrated the launch of the Rooted Gap Year program, welcoming eight  students on a journey of discipleship, spiritual growth, and service. Thanks to your support, we completed a major renovation of Hillside Manor, creating a refreshed space for families to connect and thrive which has highlighted the need for further room renovations!

While daily operations are sustained through guest stays and income, your gifts allow us to dream, grow, and invest in the future. As we look ahead, your support will help us meet critical needs, including:

1. Senum-Thompson Center Sound + Lighting System

Built in 2002 through generous donors and volunteers who equipped it with a state-of-the-art audio visual system, the Senum-Thompson Center Auditorium has been the heart of countless conferences and events. After more than two decades, the equipment needs an upgrade to remain a competitive and effective ministry space for years to come.

2. Chapel

The Chapel building holds a rich history at Tuscarora, originally serving as the home of Mount Bethel Church and is our second-largest meeting space. Since the dedication of the Senum-Thompson Center, the Chapel has undergone minimal updates and is now in need of significant renovations. To better support the ministry's needs, plans include a much-needed facelift and the addition of restrooms.
