A note from Brian
At Tuscarora in 1985 I first came to accept Christ's sacrifice for me and dedicated my life to Him. Since then, it has been a blessing and a privilege to serve at the place where my life was changed for eternity.
However, this isn't just my story. God has been changing lives at Tuscarora for the last 50 years. This ministry was made possible by the hard work and sacrifice of many men, women, and children throughout it's history. As we celebrate this legacy, we also look to the future. It is our responsibility to ensure that Tuscarora is prepared for the next 50 years.
Tuscarora is excited to announce the Standing on the Promises campaign - a capital improvements campaign which seeks to strengthen the foundation for the future.
Our Needs
GATHERING
Goal - To create meaningful places for fellowship and programs on our grounds
Senum-Thompson Center (COMPLETED)
a. A completely re-imagined entrance to Tuscarora with a new location for the registration desk and Tuscarora staff offices
b. Modern decor and furnishings, that are both comfortable and practical, to ensure Tuscarora continues to stand out in its field
Cedar Chalet
a. Retain the charm of the original cedar building but modernize the interior space
b. Perform a kitchen remodel to service a larger crowd and offer new items including a coffee shop
c. New flooring, furniture, and decor
GUEST ROOMS
Goal - To create modern, comfortable guest spaces for rest and reflection that also meet the needs of guests
Hillside Manor (IN PROCESS) and Ribe Lodge
a. New carpet, furniture, and decor in all guest rooms
b. Redesign the Ribe Lodge to be family suites with private bathrooms, one full size bed and a bunk bed
c. Create one main entrance to both buildings in the Hillside Lounge redesigning and repurposing the Ribe Lounge as guest rooms
Mountainview Dorms
a. Install a loft space in each lounge
b. Redecorate each lounge in a modern and youth based style
RECREATIONAL
Goal - To create safe and fun recreational spaces for everyone
Courtyard Space
a. Build a covered seating area where guests can congregate before meals or throughout the day
b. Include a built-in buffet serving area to ensure the highest quality service and to better utilize dining room space
Pool and Outdoor Common Area
a. Addition of a safe and innovative splash pad to better serve our youngest guests
b. New amenities in the Main Pool area including furniture and water slide

Why Now?
Faced with depreciation costs and repair of an aging facility, Tuscarora knows the best way to ready itself for the next 50 years is by strengthening the foundation it now stands on. The income generated each year covers the cost of general maintenance, but leaves little left over for additional projects. Because safety concerns and high quality facilities have taken priority, there are many areas of the property that are showing their age.
In honor of this milestone anniversary Tuscarora seeks to embark upon a $1,000,000 capital improvements campaign relying on the current base of men and women who believe in the future of Tuscarora’s ministry.
Through this capital campaign Tuscarora will close its first fifty years stronger than ever, ready to begin vision casting for the future – including new plans, programs, and facilities.

We seek first and foremost to do the will of God. We ask that you would pray about your role in the future of Tuscarora. Respond to the Lord’s prompting as He leads you.

We would love for Tuscarora and this campaign to be a topic of discussion as you spend time with your family and friends. We want as many people as possible to be excited about our plans going forward. All can play a part and share in this experience together!
