Help us prepare for ministry in 2021!

Tuscarora

Dear Tuscarora Family,

What an interesting year of ministry it has been at Tuscarora. In June, I shared with you the exciting but daunting news that Tuscarora would reopen and begin welcoming guests for summer. This decision meant operating with far less income and rethinking how we perform the ministry God has called us to. We also asked for your help to raise $500,000 by the end of the year.

Through your support, God provided. Our staff family is smaller, but your gifts made it possible for us to maintain enough staff to reopen safely, serve during this season, and prepare for life after COVID-19. We were also able to perform the necessary campus updates to keep our guests healthy. Despite the challenges, we were able to hold all four weeks of Tuscarora programs and continue to welcome limited guests for retreats through the fall. More importantly, we heard countless stories of how God was at work in people’s lives.

Looking back, Tuscarora’s decision to open reminds me of the Parable of the Talents. In this story, Jesus tells of a man who divides his talents, or wealth, among three servants. Two of the servants invest this wealth and increase it. The third hid his wealth in the ground and returned the same amount to the master. Tuscarora’s calling in this season was to put to use that which people have entrusted to us.

I am thankful for the hard work of the Tuscarora staff, but the challenges are not over. The next wave of the pandemic is upon our world, and we face further cancellations in the months ahead. Tuscarora still needs to raise a remaining $70,000 of our original goal by the end of the calendar year.

Donations to Tuscarora today are being used to continue to maintain the staff level that remains. These staff members have worked tirelessly to multiply the talents given to us by God. In this season, I am reminded that God has a plan to provide for Tuscarora. Please help Tuscarora continue its mission in these difficult days by making a year-end gift to the COVID-19 relief fund.

Thank you,

Brian Abrahamsen
